Leadership in Action - A Blueprint

A blueprint to deliver high performance outcomes.

In Leadership in Action: A Blueprint – When High Performance Matters, Olivier Lemaignen shares a practical, real-world guide to becoming the kind of leader people choose to follow.

Drawing from more than 30 years of experience across corporations, startups, agencies, and executive coaching, this book goes beyond theory. It offers clear frameworks, actionable tools, and powerful insights to help you build high-performing teams, make smarter decisions, and lead with clarity and purpose.

Inside, you will learn how to:

  • Define your “True North” and align your career with your values
  • Build, grow, and retain thriving teams
  • Shift from command-and-control to servant leadership
  • Handle difficult conversations with confidence
  • Create a culture of respect, accountability, and trust
  • Design systems that accelerate performance and results
  • Navigate corporate politics and tough career decisions

This is not a book about titles or authority. It is about influence, integrity, and impact. Whether you are an executive, manager, entrepreneur, or emerging leader, this blueprint will help you elevate your leadership and unlock extraordinary performance for yourself and your team.

Case Study Overview

Companies struggle with how to "deal with" Millennials. Yet, many of them are absolute gems. They are hard-working, smart, deeply committed, and open to feedback and personal growth. They get a bad reputation ("entitled", "narcissistic", "idealistic", scattered"), but this generation is here to stay: they'll represent over 40% of the workforce by 2020, an 85-million strong pool of new employees. Not dealing with the generational disconnect is simply not an option. The question is "where to start?".

I’ve coached dozens of Millennials over the course of my engagement with Evite’s staff - at all levels of the organization.

We surfaced five dimensions in which an external coach can profoundly and positively affect an organization:

  1. Boost collaboration and effectiveness by building baseline Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and improving communication skills
  2. Provide a safe resource to talk (a.k.a. the “office couch”)
  3. Synthesize macro themes from across an organization
  4. Create scale by giving the mentees the power to coach on their own
  5. Be a resource that coaches both up and down
